A Zap button for every web page – Embed Nostr anywhere on the internet

It started with a simple but important idea:
Nostr should not stay inside apps. It should live on the open web.

Earlier this year, I released a very minimal nostr-components library with basic web components such as Follow, Profile, Profile Badge, and Post. Soon after, my friend Hemath joined to help build a storyboard-based website to showcase these components. (More info at https://saiy2k.in/2025/02/17/nostr-components/)

The launch got very good response in nostr. Few people integrated it in their websites, asking for npm module and WP plugins. Moreover, I got support from Adi, Summer of Bitcoin who assigned an intern to contribute.. Through SoB, Arpan joined the team.

We spent next few months:

  1. Rebuilding the project with a solid, extensible architecture
  2. More CSS customizations and theming
  3. Zap and like buttons (Bringing value flow directly to the open web)
  4. WordPress Plugin
  5. NPM modules

Huge thanks to my friends Hemath and Vivek for testing, review and feedback.

Today, the library is being re-launched.

The next phase is adoption and refinement: reaching out to nostriches, helping them integrate the components into their websites, fixing bugs, and iterating based on real usage. There is still a lot more to build, driven strictly by actual needs.

To support this work, a fundraiser has been launched on Geyser, with clear roadmap items mapped to funding goals. If you believe Nostr should exist beyond the nostr clients, this is a direct way to support @ https://geyser.fund/project/nostrcomponents

Re-launch post on Nostr:
