It’s been a long-time dream (among 100 others) to experience village life. Ideally in a hill area, surrounded by trees, far far away from humans. Like the rest, this one also kept getting postponed. But thanks to a strong push from my better half, Ramya, and happy consent from my mom, we’re finally making it happen.

Now the plot twist. She doesn’t want mountains. She wants our native. Pudukkottai/Tanjavur. Among relatives. Basically the opposite of what I had in mind.
But practically speaking, as a family man, I can’t afford the “far away hills, forest, isolation” plan. So her suggestion is actually a good middle ground. And a practical one.
I also get to see how I feel away from my comfort zone, Chennai.
So we found a good home in Keeramangalam, in Pudukkottai district, close to my native. It’s not exactly a village. More like a town. It fits the practical needs of family life. Neighbours, healthcare, shops, internet. So we settled on this.
Also, from what I’ve learned so far, finding a rented house in actual farming villages is close to impossible.
Cheers to this new beginning. Stepping out of comfort, into something new. An experiment, more than anything.
Let’s see how this goes!
